Question by Yuppy kid! =P Roxzzz….: How do i get good marks in science even when i hate it?
I hate science. My primary and secondary school teachers have never made me interested in it. It is always confusing and they always deduct so many marks for using a wrong word and u have to explain every detail even for a one mark question. U also need to aply wht u learn and i am bad at that. I always get low marks for science. There is sooooo much memorising to do!!! I hate it yet i want to do well in it. Many pple say tht math and science are related. I love math but hate science. How can it be so? I normally get A+ for math. Any science teachers or excellent science students can help me?

For the Renaissance, the truth of nature can only be obtained through experience and observation guided by the use of reason … this went against the tenets of the Catholic church, who were no longer accepted by the Renaissance, which not ceased to be Christians, but do not accept anything that could not be proven through experience and observation (with the exception of faith in God, of course) …
-It was the Renaissance that Europe has abandoned the complicated Roman and began using the simple and practical figures brought out by the Arabs (so named after Arabic) … that greatly facilitated the calculations … men and women Renaissance realized that mathematics helped enough to understand and master the world …
the Renaissance, the science has known great progress:
- The Italian Cardano created in 1543 to negative numbers, ie less than zero …- 1, -2, -3, etc …
- The dutch Stevin showed that the fractions podeiam be written with decimal numbers, facilitating the calculation … that is, 0.25 is equal to 1 / 4 …
- Physics was the great great works of Copernicus and Galileo on the Geocentric model, which caused a serious confrontation with the Catholic Church, which almost leads Galileo to the fire of the Inquisition …
- The mechanical clock was invented in the fourteenth century … the thermometer in 1592 and the microscope in 1590 …
- In shipping, the Portuguese were pioneers … they perfected the astrolabe and the compass and created a small and agile caravel …
- The German Gutenberg invents the typographer in 1454, making the books much cheaper and facilitating the dissemination of knowledge …

The Role of Enterprise Architects
While I am not a typical Enterprise Architect as I am responsible for our products at ISIS Papyrus Software, I face the same problems as someone being in charge of Enterprise IT. I am in fact linked to EA architects problems with our solutions. Let me point out a few things that I see as problematic with current EA thinking and analyst stance related to the subjects in your email. These are essential architectural issues that are not enough covered and therefore I will also cover them in my upcoming book.
• Re: Effective planning to optimize shrinking IT budgets
Lets face it, IT projects have neither become simpler nor more successful. Rather the opposite. More than half of IT budgets are maintenance cost. More than half of projects still get canceled. More than half of project budget is manpower. And more than half of software cost is ‘cost of sales’ at the vendor. That leaves around five percent of IT budgets actually going into software development at vendors. With current technology being sold in current market conditions that is hard to change. No amount of EA planning will improve that situation. There is a huge amount of money going up in smoke. Why is anyone surprised? Things have to become way simpler!
• Re: Agility with SOA and BPM (Arrrrggh!)
Very soon this will make me want to scream. The reason business process management (BPM) implementations and service-oriented architecture (SOA) are white hot is that there is huge amount of money spent on marketing! Neither BPM nor SOA make a business more agile. SOA makes IT just a lot more complex (and thus rigid) and BPM is about long and expensive process analysis that is dated the day it is finished and outdated once implemented. Large scale BPM deployment is a failure where ever you look because no one has a handle on metadata, versioned deployment, and process interdependencies. The huge effort of putting SOA in could only make sense with large scale BPM and therefore these two are doomed together. The reason that everything is being outsourced is the immense cost of complexity. Obviously SOA life-cycle management is important, just like life-cycle management of eveything else. It makes however no sense to manage SOA and not manage BPM as an integrated element of the overall application. In all cases that I have seen putting in SOA and BPm meant substantial Java coding, that again is managed some place else. Forget agility …
• Re: The bottom line depends on new capabilities.
I could not agree more! IT is stuck in mud, soggy with programmer’s tears. True innovation is the name of the game. Not product buying and renaming as most vendors do. We at ISiS Papyrus do actually deliver game-changing technology. Do enterprise architects care much? Most of them are in CYA mode and if at all they take some vendor from the ‘Magic Quadrant’ that is chosen from past market share analysis … not really the new stuff. Please, don’t use Microsoft and innovation in the same sentence. They have long forgotten how to be innovative. They only know how to spend marketing billions.
How do we address thise issues at ISIS. What is so innovative about our Papyrus Platform?
Papyrus WebRepository promotes ‘Experience Sharing’ in the enterprise rather than rigid planning, and combined with the consolidated BPM, CRM and ECM capabilites in its own transaction and OR-DB engine it is a unique, innovative solution. We are only a medium size, privately held company, but have around 200 implementations in major organizations worldwide since its availability in 2001. The largest are 3000+ workflow users.
The ISIS Papyrus WebRepository has full life-cycle (DEV-TEST-PROD) project management with alerts and reports. It (project) manages all aspects (analysis, design and implementation) of the business process as well as the service registry, regardless of its implementation … SOA or not. While we can easily manage UDDI and WSDL files and their parameters and use in projects, but we get chosen in most cases because SOA is not mandatory. I yet have to see a company that has a readily available SOA interface that we can simply latch onto. A change in (SOA) interface metadata is propagated automatically to all processes and process elements, such as rules, user interfaces and created content! The user interface for the BPM implementation is much more powerful and extensive than Adobe Flex and runs in either Flash or the Papyrus Desktop with the same definition. The integrated UML capabilities of the WebRepository give it enough power for enterprise architecture planning. No Java, no .NET, no SOA, just process oriented applications that are simple and manageable!

The Two Ms of Technical Analysis
The first M in the technical analysis concept is known as mathematical representations which are used by forex brokers to graph the result of trend indicators that affect the forex currency as a whole. The second one is the moving averages which are helpful keys for the trader to use. They show the clients of existing trends, future trends and trends which are about to reverse. These are just two of the concepts that need to be elaborated as an aspect of forex currency. Both of these key terms have three types each.
Bar charts. This is a type of mathematical representation used by forex brokers to represent price changes. The bar may signify the time period by which changes in the market price take place. It may show transitions for each minute, each hour, each day, each week, each month and believe it or not it may even represent trends in as long as several years. Technical analysis dictates that the bar chart show distinct patterns in market prices.
Point and figure charts. This graph as drawn by forex brokers are similar to bar charts by nature of the point and figure patterns used. The only difference is the use of the Xs and Os to signify changes in price directions. As per technical analysis, the point and figure charts do not make use of time to point out actions of prices in the financial market.
Candlestick charts. This graphic representation shows more of the other aspects of the stock market. It virtually shows the opening, closing and the highs and lows as gathered for technical analysis at a particular time. It provides a more visual appreciation on the part of the forex brokers.
Simple moving average. Forex brokers use simple moving averages in order to weigh points equally under a specified period. The trader usually defines all the aspects of the price system from high, low, opening and closing points and averages the total of the four to be able to draw a line graph.
Weighted moving average. This particular technical analysis under the second M gives importance to the latest gathered data. It actually draws a curve by considering the recent prices in the market. Forex brokers give a big deal to the responsiveness of the average to important details of the prices.
Exponential moving average. Should we compare the situation in the mathematical sense, this particular type of moving average could be tackled in algebra. Forex brokers consider both old prices as well as the new prices in the market. A percentage of the recent price is usually multiplied with the average price of the last period.
These two Ms of technical analysis provide better understanding of the entire forex system. It helps us see a visual representation of the real deal in the market. We can use the data plotted in the lines, bars and curves to compute for moving averages. The end result would be a deeper analysis of the pairs that we will use in the trade.
You may want to consult your forex brokers online and have a feel of what it takes to do technical analysis.
